Harold F worked as [[Helen A]]'s [[gag writer]], although he was not proud of his jokes. After his brother, ([[TV]]: {{cs|The Happiness Patrol (TV story)}}) [[Andrew X]], ([[PROSE]]: {{cs|The Happiness Patrol (novelisation)}}) was [[arrest]]ed by the [[Happiness Patrol]], Harold F went looking for him and learnt of various other disappearances. He attempted to contact [[Terra Omega]] from the [[rocket-port zone]], ([[TV]]: {{cs|The Happiness Patrol (TV story)}}) but the Happiness Patrol chased him through the streets and arrested him.


[[Daisy K]] ripped the V off of Harold's tunic ([[PROSE]]: {{cs|The Happiness Patrol (novelisation)}}) and he was regraded as Harold V. He was confined to the [[waiting zone]] where he repeatedly played the [[one-armed bandit]], although he did not like winning and having to hear his own jokes. When he was joined by the [[Seventh Doctor]] and [[Ace]], he told them what had happened to him and about [[the Kandy Man]], ([[TV]]: {{cs|The Happiness Patrol (TV story)}}) for whom he believed the three of them were to act as guinea pigs in his experiments. Harold V, previously Harold F, was a citizen of Terra Alpha and Helen A's gag writer until he was charged with being a killjoy.

Harold F worked as Helen A's gag writer, although he was not proud of his jokes. After his brother, (TV: The Happiness Patrol [+]Loading...["The Happiness Patrol (TV story)"]) Andrew X, (PROSE: The Happiness Patrol [+]Loading...["The Happiness Patrol (novelisation)"]) was arrested by the Happiness Patrol, Harold F went looking for him and learnt of various other disappearances.
