| Previously BBC 2 had 'Star Trek Night' and 'Red Dwarf Night' on their 30th and 10th anniversarys, broadcasting special episodes, documentaries, interviews etc. Admittedly this was a long time ago, but considering Doctor who is a) made by the BBC, b) it's flagship and most internationally renowned show, and c) possibly the only franchise still in production celebrating a 50th anniversary, I cannot imagine that there will not be more than just a 'special' episode. Even if it is not made by Moffat and co, or even BBC Wales, how can there not be a huge celebration?
