Madness on the M1! was a Doctor Who Adventures comic story featuring the Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond.

Summary[[edit] | [edit source]]

The Eleventh Doctor and Amy arrive on the Blue Boar service station on the newly opened M1 motorway in 1959. The Doctor wants to see it "before they messed it up". The peaceful flow of traffic is soon interrupted by teenage Petrolions — alien joyriders on bikes.

Watching from a bridge the Doctor announces they have got to be stopped. Flying the TARDIS through the air a few miles down the road to a filling station, the Doctor leaves the attendant distracted by the task of filling up the TARDIS while he and Amy go over to the other pumps and wait for the Petrolions to arrive to fill up. The Petrolions, the Doctor explain use petrol the way humans drink water. It powers their bikes, their space suit and is used as a fuel for their ships.

While they are filling up their bikes, Amy distracts them while the Doctor uses his sonic screwdriver to reverse the flow at the pumps. The pumps drain the petrol from the Petrolions, whose bikes and suits begin to fall apart. The Doctor orders them to "go home and leave us in peace". Leaving their wrecked bikes and suits behind them, the Petroloids leave in a transporter beam.
