Vera Ramsey was gang leader Tommy Ramsey's mother. She resided at 15 Tabernacle Street, Shoreditch. She was a regular of the congregation of St Luke's Church. She married her husband, Herbert Ramsey, at a young age, but was widowed when he was killed during World War I. She had to raise her only son alone, bringing in money through her sewing and knitting.
