Name

Don't think we have it confirmed that this was a maple leaf, do we? I realise that the principle author of this article is Canadian, and therefore would know a maple leaf, but I worry about the approach of T:NO RW on this article. Are we positive that there's no other type of leaf this could possibly be? Is visual identification absolutely, positively enough in this case?

Additionally, maple syrup should be its own article.

Well, I kept almost everything you'd written except for that weird speculation about maple syrup and grits and how there's some kinda stereotypical joke there. I think your Canadian roots are showing there, SOTO.

:D No, but that definitely is the joke. Why else would he mix foods from different cultures? Not my biggest priority, though to fight for that, that's for sure!

Oh, yeah, we can't really do an infobox here cause we don't have nearly enough info. We obviously can't possibly list appearances with any real certainty. Maples are everywhere. For a start, there were doubtless maples in The Angels Take Manhattan and any number of other episodes that had trees in the background.

It's not a conjecture that maple trees exist in the DWU. And we now know that it definitely wasn't a maple in Bells. (Or rather, the production team clearly made a mistake with that prop, as the real leaf was clearly not a maple.
