Don't think we have it confirmed that this was a maple leaf, do we? I realise that the principle author of this article is Canadian, and therefore would know a maple leaf, but I worry about the approach of T:NO RW on this article. Are we positive that there's no other type of leaf this could possibly be? Is visual identification absolutely, positively enough in this case?
Additionally, maple syrup should be its own article.
