There's nothing contrary here. The Doctor getting over that xenophobia is one of the major points of that novel. And, in fact, the reason he gets over it is that he comes to realize that he can trust them because of their code of honour. In later novels, he's not just trusting, but respectful. He does call them "too rigid and military" at one point, but in the same sentence he's comparing them favorably to the one of his oldest friends, the Brig. TARDIS on the sub[[edit source]]

What caused the TARDIS to dematerialize off of the sub?69.125.134.86talk to me 00:12, April 14, 2013 (UTC)

Something called HADS. Basically, the TARDIS detected Skaldak's attack on the sub and it materialised to safety on its own. -- Tybort (talk page) 00:21, April 14, 2013 (UTC)
Yes, I should have waited to post this until the end of the episode. Thanks. 69.125.134.86talk to me 01:04, April 14, 2013 (UTC)
I'm guessing you're new to the wiki? Not that it's a bad thing, but I suggest you register, you'll get a link on your page to all the info you need, specifically where to ask questions about narrative elements (the article talk pages are meant for discussions about how to edit the articles only) And yes, if you keep watching, everything will be explained properly Geek Mythology 10:26, April 14, 2013 (UTC)
No, I'm not particularly new (a month or two). It's just that I first started posting questions in various Forums, the threads were closed, deleted or moved by a zealous Admin before I could get an answer. I've had better luck getting questions answered on the Talk Pages. If it was possible to post questions in the Forums and not have them "shut down", then I would indeed post my questions there instead of on the Talk Pages. And, yes, I've read over some of the policy Pages.69.125.134.86talk to me 14:34, April 14, 2013 (UTC)

2.3 Expansion[[edit source]]

Okay, here is my question. I know what class of submarine this was. It was a Soviet 667BDR Kaľmar (Squid). The NATO reporting name (and what is generally considered an appropriate translation to English) was Delta III.

I can show many legitimate websites with pictures as my source, and recommend reading, but it was never mentioned in the show.

So, though we know that was a Delta III sub, and we know what rifles they were using and what sidearms, is it canon? Can I go and edit it to say she was a Delta III class boomer or am I breaking the rules? Mobious 1 05:16, April 14, 2013 (UTC)

I tried reading this page, http://tardis.wikia.com/wiki/Tardis:Canon_policy

And it just made me MORE confused, it claims there is no canon.

Mobious 1 05:24, April 14, 2013 (UTC)

In terms of what is added to articles, canon only really applies to whether a story is "in-universe" or "non-DWU". As for what is seen on screen but not mentioned by name, I agree, it is a little tricky. On one page I've added that Grisenko has a walkman, even though it isn't specifically called a walkman, but one of my deciding factors was that there was already a Walkman page. I wouldn't see an problem adding it to the episode page, as it is already a "real world" article, but I'd specifically add that it isn't mentioned by name in the episode, and make sure you give sources.

Hope that helps. Geek Mythology 10:22, April 14, 2013 (UTC)

Even if we can't definitively declare something to be the model or type in narrative, sharing the physical characteristics of a real world item is significant, just so long as we don't overstep into speculation. So, identifying it by sight should be permissible in the Story Notes section, so long as you qualify that it's not narrative. I'd phrase it like, "The submarine model has the visual characteristics of the <insert here> class of Russian Submarine." Likewise for the "Walkman". Perhaps it's not the brand, but a knock off, but if it appears to be the brand, you should say what it appears like.--ComicBookGoddess 00:33, April 19, 2013 (UTC)

Production Errors[[edit source]]

In production errors, it states the red light of the Sonic Screwdriver was a production error. This doesn't seem true though, as it seems quite intentional that it turned red. Also in Silence in the Library, River Song mentioned that the Sonic will eventually have a "Red Setting". 14thLord 18:24, April 14, 2013 (UTC)
