Irene was a botanist who tended plants on the mini-moon of Delphi. She had lived there alone and for twenty years had nurtured the beautiful Pink Cichorium. When its survival (and hers), was threatened by the arrival of man-eating weeds, she sent a distress call that was answered by the Tenth Doctor. In line with Irene's wishes, the Doctor left Irene behind to defend her home but agreed to resettle her Pink Cichorium in the fields of Centauri-Beta. (COMIC: Borrowed Time)
