The "Star Poet" was a female Arcateenian known to Sarah Jane Smith. Having gotten lost, the Star Poet located Sarah Jane, who gave her directions back home. In return, the Star Poet gave Sarah Jane a contact to help her with writing her poetry. Maria Jackson saw Sarah Jane with the Star Poet in her garden. This was the first alien she ever saw.
