The First Jon Pertwee annual-which to me is the 1970 one! Every copy of this edition has superior binding than its five predecessors. It consists of six blocks of 16 pages that are bound by cord in four, five or six sections in the middle of each block (Pages 8/9 24/25 40/41 56/57 70/71 and 86/87) The hard cover pages are `not` cardboard as were the first five annuals-but a very compressed foam. I know this as I once had a very tatty edition where the front cover had a chunk out- not cardboard!
The | The 1973 dated annual has about one in ten copies cord bound. Cord binded 1973 Dr Who annuals are far superior than the gum bound ones as the binding on these `non` cord bound 1973 issues is weak and pages easily work loose. Most of the 1974 issues are cord binded and the 1975 is about 50-50% Cord/Gum. All annuals to the 1986 dated only Gum bound.{{Unsigned-anon|193.63.54.80}}

The 1973 dated annual has about one in ten copies cord bound. Cord binded 1973 Dr Who annuals are far superior than the gum bound ones as the binding on these `non` cord bound 1973 issues is weak and pages easily work loose. Most of the 1974 issues are cord binded and the 1975 is about 50-50% Cord/Gum. All annuals to the 1986 dated only Gum bound.– The preceding unsigned comment was added by 193.63.54.80 (talk).
