Totally speculative but what if.....

'The Doctor' stands accused of 'crimes against reality' and has to stand trial to prove that erasing him entirely from history would be a worse crime than absolving his actions as guiltless. The doctor obviously is the only being that can face that question and pass judgement. If John Hurt's doctor represents the 'Oncoming Storm' finally facing his inner demons then he might literally demand for silence before the court and opening the proceedings by asking the accused to swear an oath of honesty and to confirm aloud for the record his true name and identity...

As for his sentence if found guilty? Imprisoning him outside 'the moment' ergo caging the storm ought to do the trick :DThe preceding unsigned comment was added by Sil'fana (talk • contribs) .

That's a nice idea, but 1) The Name of the Doctor has already proven to the audience that a universe without the Doctor is a universe that's on the brink of collapsing, so it wouldn't be as dramatic as it might be; 2) the Sixth Doctor spent the entire Season 23 on trial, so the idea's been used before; 3) "imprisoning him outside 'the moment'", 'the Moment' was (allegedly) made from a modified De-mat Gun, so it wouldn't make sense for him to be trapped "outside it". —BioniclesaurKing4t2 - "Hello, I'm the Doctor. So it's 3 steps forward and two steps back- Good job losing is winning eh? As for 'the moment' as I understand it is the control of the events unfolding contrast to already established events. Taking a couple of examples from the 5 doctors in particular due to possible imminent relevance: The doctors visit to unit, the dropping of the catapult and his hilarious sweety trick all point to his going to great lengths to ensure it stays that way which brings be to Clara: The doctor couldn't move closer to her because that would essentially give her the power of 'the moment' = trapped outside the moment and open to manipulation. 62.254.16.137talk to me 06:19, August 4, 2013 (UTC) Sil'fana 62.254.16.137talk to me 06:19, August 4, 2013 (UTC)
