Gol Clutha was the captain of a temporal mercenary team. When it came to hired work, her slogan was "any job, any planet, any century".

On a job, Gol's team overpowered a Sontaran Time Ship by killing 300 Sontaran warriors with halisiton gas. Gol took great pleasure in this, as she despised Sontarans. They were hired by the Prometheans to transport a cargo of psychic metal containing Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright, and were promised fifty million credits for the job. Whilst celebrating completing the job, she retired to her private quarters and found the Eleventh Doctor waiting for her. He berated her for ruthlessly murdering the Sontarans. She tried to kill him with a traulian mind-spike, which would fry his brain. The Doctor told her that he had flipped the polarity so that it would zap the user, not the target. However, Gol failed to believe him, and accidentally stunned herself in an attempt to kill him. (COMIC: Hunters of the Burning Stone)

Gol and her "boys" were hired by Josiah W. Dogbolter, who came to Stockbridge in 2016 to have them escort the Twelfth Doctor to him. Dogbolter ordered Gol to kill the Doctor, when Frobisher knocked out Gol and the other mercenaries. (COMIC: The Stockbridge Showdown)

Some time later, Gol and her team appeared inside a huge entropy bubble containing the drained remains of a variety of time machines. Her team led the Twelfth Doctor and Bill to the Rangiroa, the ship she was using as her base, this time working under Count Jodafra. Both Gol and Jodafra believed the Doctor had hired Fey Truscott-Sade to lead them to the ship and wanted revenge, due to Fey being the one that created the entropy bubble in the first place. Following an attack from the Clockwise Men, Gol escaped to Jodafra's time machine, the Salvation, alongside Jodafra, the Doctor and Bill. She worked with Bill to attack the oncoming Clockwise Men with a proton cannon, but it had no effect on them. Shortly afterwards, she was attacked by a Clockwise Man and aged to death as Bill watched. (COMIC: The Clockwise War)
