Okay; I originally thought that the Nestene Consciousness was an indivisual being that served as the Hive Mind for the the Auton race. But this page hints that it is as entire species, which is pretty confusing due the the fact that it is constantly refered to as "The Nestene Consciousness". Which is it? :Because they're a hive mind, they're a species and a single being. When they were first introduced, they were the Nestenes, and over time we've seen "individual" creatures, but recently they've been made into the "Nestene Consciousness." They are a [[Great Old One]] as well, and we've seen some species grouped into them. I've never been sure how they work with the autons, because sometimes they seem to act independently but, ultimately, the Nestenes possess the Autons, so they're like an extension. I think. It seems naive to me to assume that the Nestene's involvement in the Pandorica plot took place earlier than ''Spearhead from Space'' et alt. in its personal timeline. Nestene Consciousness or Consciousnesses?[[edit source]]
Okay; I originally thought that the Nestene Consciousness was an indivisual being that served as the Hive Mind for the the Auton race.
