Medallions were devices that allowed people from Pete's World to teleport to the same place in other universes when the Void was open. It also allowed the TARDIS to travel to Pete's World.

The S4 version of the medallions allowed Inter- and Intra-Universal jumps.

Inter-universal jumping, as before, only allowed one to jump to the same place in an other universe.
They allowed a person (if the walls of time were down) to teleport themselves from universe to universe. They could also teleport great distances and through the Void. (TV: Army of Ghosts/Doomsday)
Intra-universal jumping, a new feature, allowed one to teleport to an other location within the currant universe. <!-- Speculation -->Exactly how the destination is input is unknown but the disk might be able to scan your brain to find out the desired destination, or they might just teleport to the nearest other disk.

Dimensional transporters, also known as parallel world transporters, were pieces of teleportation technology.

Mechanicsedit

They allowed a person (if the walls of time were down) to teleport themselves from universe to universe. They could also teleport great distances and through the Void. (TV: Army of Ghosts/Doomsday)

Historyedit

When the Cybermen made their way into the Doctor's universe through a crack in the Void, they began a plan to invade it and convert humanity into Cybermen. Mickey Smith had followed them through, (TV: Army of Ghosts) leading the way for others such as Jake Simmonds, Peter Tyler and the Preachers to follow, and help defeat the Cybermen. (TV: Doomsday) Pete later used it to save his daughter Rose from being pulled into the Void. (TV: Doomsday) Rose travelled from Pete's World to the Doctor's universe during the Dalek invasion, hoping to the find the Tenth Doctor. Mickey and Jackie also followed Rose, and saved Sarah Jane Smith from a squad of Daleks. (TV: Journey's End)
