Jim Broadbent (born 24 May 1949[1]) played the Eleventh Doctor in The Curse of Fatal Death.
He had previously played a version of the Doctor in Doctor Who and Crayola a sketch in Victoria Wood: As Seen on TV. This is included on the VHS release of The Curse of Fatal Death and the DVD release of The Greatest Show in the Galaxy.
He was also one of many names put forward for the part of the Eighth Doctor.[2] He was also considered for the role of Drak in The Twin Dilemma. (TCH 40)

Other roles in popular series have included Professor Kirke in the 2005 movie The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Charles Stanforth in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Most recently, he has played Professor Slughorn in the Harry Potter film series. He also played Roy "the Slag" Slater in BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses.
