Spurrina was a member of the Sibylline Sisterhood in 79 AD who had breathed in dust that the Pyroviles had been releasing in the air of Pompeii. She was spying on Evelina, a girl about to join the Sisterhood due to the psychic powers that she had. Donna told Evelina that Vesuvius was about to erupt and kill everyone. She asked the High Priestess what she wanted to do to Donna; she wanted Donna to be sacrificed. While a Pyrovile attacked Caecilius' house she snatched Donna. Just as she was about to kill Donna, the Tenth Doctor burst in and saved her. He asked the High Priestess her true name. She eventually said it was Pyrovile.
