Lem

...Give it a minute. Wibbly-Wobbly 05:40, December 27, 2013 (UTC)

So "Lem" is "Mel" spelled backwards? River only on occasions went as "Melody" or "Mels", so that means little, plus with only 26 letters to work with provided by the English language, something like this was bound to occur sooner or later. —BioniclesaurKing4t2 - "Hello, I'm the Doctor. Basically, . . . run." 23:33, December 27, 2013 (UTC)
Another thing: does anyone ever wonder if Moffat deliberately leaves details such as these just for uber-fans like us to go crazy wasting our time trying to connect them into some huge overarching "grand plan" as he revels in laughing at our futile attempts before he reveals his real plan that shatters all of our theories into spacedust? —BioniclesaurKing4t2 - "Hello, I'm the Doctor. Basically, . . . run." 00:13, December 28, 2013 (UTC)

Of course he does. He always does. Doesn't seem to ever discourage me, though. And even if this connection really was an actual thought in Moffat's mind, he pretty clearly hasn't overcommitted to it. But between the psychopath comments, TARDIS flying, sexual overtones, opposition to aging, and the comment about screaming his 'name'... Well, there's plenty of room on the dance floor if some future writer wants to make something of it. Wibbly-Wobbly 02:11, December 28, 2013 (UTC)

Yes this definitely suggests that she's River. By the way, have you heard that theory that Rory Williams was actually The Rani in disguise? 87.102.91.126talk to me 12:48, December 29, 2013 (UTC)

She's not River; she's someone totally separate. There's no reason for them to be the same person at all. We've seen River's life already, and if it were her, why would she have asked if the Doctor was on a new body? ProtoKun7 15:40, December 29, 2013 (UTC)

With all of this "X is actually Y in disguise" talk, someone analyzing all of it might become convinced that there are only about 5 or so distinct entities in the entire Whoniverse! Why can no one seem to accept quietly the idea of truly new characters? —BioniclesaurKing4t2 - "Hello, I'm the Doctor. Basically, . . . run." 20:23, December 30, 2013 (UTC)

It could be River. She could be trying to disguise her identity and make sure the Doctor thinks she's Tasha because it could be before he saves her thus it would be spoilers if he found out. When I heard the name "Tasha Lem," it certainly range a bell. Which means either I have heard it before, or it just goes together so naturally, it could have easily occurred to someone else. I don't see River standing against the Doctor, regardless of other responsibilities, so the way things go doesn't seem River-like. And if she thought the Doctor was really going to die, would River wait above in orbit, or try to be with him in person, at the end. The only reason she would not is if she knew that was Clara's role. But could she know that in advance? Or could she relinquish the role to Clara, because in some way, she is Clara? But then we are getting into the situation where River Song is behind everyone, everywhere. Phil Stone 16:48, July 14, 2014 (UTC)
