Marlow was an old friend of Irving Braxiatel and a magician. When he died, he bequeathed his magic supplies to the Braxiatel Collection. His assistant Brenda brought the items to the Collection. When Brenda was found dead, Jason Kane was suspected by the Brotherhood of Magicians of killing her, but Bernice Summerfield and Braxiatel learned that both Marlow and Brenda had faked their deaths so they could marry, which the Brotherhood had not approved.
