I think that the names we have on the pages are quite inaccurate, as they said "___ of Mine" only in a possessive manner, you know? I do recall them saying "___ of Yours" and "____ of His/Her" and all that stuff. Besides, the Father and Mother called themselves "Husband of Mine" and "Wife of Mine". All in all, I think we should change the names to "The Father", "The Mother", "The Sister" and "The Son". I feel that suits it better here. --X29 02:26, August 14, 2014 (UTC)

I've been re-watching The Empty Child and it seems to me that the spaceship used by The Family may have been of Chula design. ==The family are Aubertides==
The recent webcast Shadow of a Doubt has given us a lot to digest - what with the mention of several Doctors - but I think one thing that has been overlooked is the confirmation that they are in fact Aubertides.

The confirmation comes when Bernice Summerfield meets Daughter of Mine and, while she recognises that they are "not quite the same" as the little girl with the balloon who attacked her in the novel Human Nature, it is later established that they are the same character when Benny asks her to apologise and DoM states that it was a "different her", but Benny doesn't believe her.

The main description of the Aubertides was "a race of shapeshifters native to Aubris. They could assume the appearance of anything they ate." This is exactly how the Family was presented in Human Nature / The Family of Blood, with each member of the family showcasing their ability to shapeshift and Mother of Mine stating that she had "consumed" Jenny. Further comments are made in The Shadow in the Mirror with DoM preparing to eat the Thirteenth Doctor's face.

As a result I think all of the Family of Blood's page should be changed to indicate that they are Aubertides, and their home-world is Aubris, but I would be unsure about how to approach merging Daughter of Mine / Aphasia's pages. Even if they can't be merged, there should at least be a background information section explaining about the two characters being the same. In light of Shadow, what is clear is that they are versions of the same individuals, but that doesn't mean they have the same species, in the same way that you can have versions of the Doctor who are all the same individual, but some of them are human and others are Gallifreyan depending on accounts. Imageedit source

We surely need a better image than that. It is obscured by the green smoke (or whatever it is). We need a better one of all 4 of them. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 17:42, May 14, 2010 (UTC)

Oh sorry. My mistake. After reading on I realised that the green is them. I really should read before acting. ☆The Solar Dragon (Talk)☆ 17:43, May 14, 2010 (UTC)

Weaponedit source

Where and when is it said that the Family's weapons each contain a living creature whichh produces the disintegrator beam when the gun's trigger pierces it? TroopDude 20:10, August 19, 2012 (UTC)

they have strong similarity to the Rutan Host...

Time Agent's vortex manipulatoredit source

The Family used a Time Agent's vortex manipulator to follow the doctor thru the time vortex, then how did they bring their Spacecraft? I thought the Vortex manipulator was on a wrist strap, OR did they some how found a way to integrate it allowing it to bring the hole spacecraft? The preceding unsigned comment was added by Scorpionlgr (talk • contribs) .

The family are Aubertidesedit source

Xx-connor-xX 12:56, April 25, 2020 (UTC)

The Family as shown on television are, however, not shapeshifters as such, but bodysnatchers — they consume the identities of people and take over their bodies, and are gaseous in their natural form. In light of Shadow, what is clear is that they are versions of the same individuals, but that doesn't mean they have the same species, in the same way that you can have versions of the Doctor who are all the same individual, but some of them are human and others are Gallifreyan depending on accounts. I might support merging Daughter of Mine with Aphasia, but within the account where she's "Daughter of Mine", she isn't an Aubertide, even if she is the same individual down another time-track. Is what I'm saying. --Scrooge MacDuck 16:49, April 25, 2020 (UTC)
