So, in Listen, there's a huge walking McGuffin under the covers.  It's out of focus in the corner of one shot, but it's there, and it did move the covers in front of everyone's eyes.  While the end of the story explains how the Doctor had the dream, and that his search was prompted by Clara's grabbing his leg, nothing explains what was really in the room in the orphanage.

On a side note, the idea of "Listen" seems to recall the theme of "Silence," and the Doctor does explicitly mention the "silence at the end of the universe."  Could the Silent enemies of the previous few seasons themselves have been a McGuffin, with the real "Silence" to be explained in the current arc, related to the "silence at the end of the universe?"

It's appropriate that you've mentioned the Silence as a side note, because I actually think it might have been a Silent (probably a very young one) under the covers. For a start, when the creature drops the sheet, it may be out of focus but it looks kind of like a Silent. Also hiding under a bedsheet would be a good idea for a Silent that wants to be remembered. Maybe we'll find out later in the series. [[Special:Contributions/213.249.213.20|213.249.213.20]][[User talk:213.249.213.20#top|talk to me]] 14:17, September 14, 2014 (UTC)

On a side note, the idea of "Listen" seems to recall the theme of "Silence," and the Doctor does explicitly mention the "silence at the end of the universe." Could the Silent enemies of the previous few seasons themselves have been a McGuffin, with the real "Silence" to be explained in the current arc, related to the "silence at the end of the universe?" 98.180.17.52talk to me 02:00, September 14, 2014 (UTC)

213.249.213.20talk to me 14:17, September 14, 2014 (UTC)
