Desrault was a planet rich in uranium. Monsoons blew over its surface.
During the early days of the Time Lords history, it was the set of a trade negotiation between Gallifreyans, Sontarans and the Order of the Black Sun, in order to divide up its uranium resources. Eventually, it came to be the first set of the Black Sun War. (COMIC: Black Sun Rising)
