Sergeant Klegg (PROSE: The Highlanders) was one of Lieutenant Algernon Ffinch's men who were searching for Jacobites in Scotland following the Battle of Culloden in 1746.
After Alexander McLaren was killed, he led the men into the cottage in which Colin McLaren was hiding with piper Jamie McCrimmon, the Second Doctor and Ben. He took them to the gallows and was about to hang them, but was stopped by Solicitor Grey, who bribed him to give the prisoners into his custody. The Sergeant later found his commander, Ffinch, had fallen into a pit and only helped him out after Ffinch promised to pay him. (TV: The Highlanders)
