2009 or 2010?
I know we had an unfinished conversation three years ago. It can be found here. Unless it was brought up at the forums, there never seemed to be a consensus. I noticed that, at the moment, the setting in listed as 2010 in the infobox. The page itself says the following:
* This story refers to the events of when the Earth is transported to the Medusa Cascade that took place in May - June 2009, based on novel information, which would place it in 2010; however, controversy errupted with TV: The End of Time taking place on Christmas 2009, placing this story in Easter 2009, before the Medusa Cascade incident. Unfortunately, there are many reasons this story cannot take place after The End of Time, some of which are Naismith's status and the worldwide recession. The writers or producers have not addressed the dating issue. Some fans believe what date novels give should only be taken with a grain of salt if it disturbs on-screen continuity.
So... If the decision was already made, please say so here and what the conclusion was. If we still haven't reached a conclusion, then we need to discuss it all over again. Why are there two ramdom charecters down as companions?
Theme song easter egg
In the commentary RTD only says that they appear he never says that they are companions.
Anonymous tip: Listen to the opening theme, the standard "1-2" drumbeat that's usually in the background has changed. Instead of the single drum, four drums in quick succession occur. Sound familiar? (I verified this on the DVD, listening to the theme that played on the menu and then the theme that played in the actual episode). I didn't edit it in myself since I'd rather other people double-checked before adding. This may or may not occur in other episodes too, I'm not sure.

I just watched Planet of the Dead on Netflix
Odd, because a few months ago I remember watching episodes on Netflix and Planet of the Dead wasn't there. But I've been re-watching them with my girlfriend, and we watched Planet of the Dead. (I'm in the US, by the way.) Anyone know why or when it changed?

Rumours
Uncredited cast
Before The Next Doctor was broadcasted, a rumour link was sent up on the article pages and a message was inserted that you could only add rumour if there was proof could an admin do that to this page, it would help to root some really stupid rumours. Should not be returned back to the page until a source is found.
* I don't know if it's always necessary to have a source for rumours, as this could include widespread fan-forum rumours which are difficult to cite. However I do think some common sense has to come into play. For example I just deleted a rather spurious rumour -- one I've yet to see anywhere else -- suggesting that simply because it's a modern day story, the Brigadier and even Benton or Yates could appear. That could be said of any modern-day Who story; absolutely nothing notable. The only companion to have been rumored is Martha and only because a tabloid reported she may appear in one of the specials. Personally I think she'll be involved in the lead-up to regeneration, not get burned off on an early special where clearly the focus will be on Michelle Ryan's character, anyway (especially if the related rumour that she's companion-in-waiting for Matt Smith bears fruit). == Synopsis and Enemy ==

Where did the information for the Synopsis and the enemy come from, it sounds suspect so I'm going to remove it

Dubai controversy
Right now mentioning the Dubai filming controversy in "Story Notes" is probably good enough, but we should be prepared to make it its own section -- perhaps even its own article -- if the brouhaha gets big. We should make sure, though, that if anyone adds quotes, etc. connected to this topic that they be accompanied by sources - no generic "RTD said last week..." type comments. ==Species/Enemy==
Where are the sources for all 3 enemies - Zarbi, Nimons and Tritovores ?? And why are they in the main enemy box list ? Until I see a source I'm deleting them. Michael Downey
* Nothing's been announced officially, although the Tritovore name has been mentioned I believe by RTD; a source related to this would be authoritative. The others are still rumors. 23skidoo 20:00, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
The Name may have been mentioned by RTD but their is no official conformation that he has said it or announced that their this stories enemy so for the last time i am deleting and if i see it again unless with sources the person who placed it will be blocked. Michael Downey 19:58, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

:I think the Zarbi and Nimon rumors started with the announcement of the title of the episode, due to associations with deaths and destroying planets (or some such.)

:All three of these rumors strike me as unlikely given the promise of two new alien species from RTD - which unlike these things I have seen sourced.  But these things definitely don't belong.--TheOmnius 00:23, 6 February 2009 (UTC)

:By the way RTD did say that there will be aliens called Tritovorse's in the story he also said he wished to call it Planet of the Zarbi. Catkind121 13:19, 11 February 2009 (UTC)

Billie Piper's accent
I took out an uncalled for and completely unsourced bit of POV weasel wording regarding Piper's accent in Turn Left. The fact critics and fans noticed the lisp hsa been covered (wouldn't hurt to include a source, though the episode itself can be used as a source), but the statement that she sounded like a "chav" not only crosses the line potentially with whatever the Wikia equivalent of Wikipedia's BLP policy is, but it's an utterly meaningless term to anyone outside England. ::I haven't seen the actual item you're referring to, so I have no idea if this is actually relevant or not, but in the episode New Earth (TV story), Cassandra takes over Rose's body, and upon examining her body, clothes, and accent declares, "[My god], I'm a chav!"  The first two words may not be exact, but they convey the point.

::Like I said, relevant or not, I've no idea.  Take the information for whatever value it has.--TheOmnius 01:05, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

2009 or 2010?edit source

I know we had an unfinished conversation three years ago. It can be found here. Unless it was brought up at the forums, there never seemed to be a consensus. I noticed that, at the moment, the setting in listed as 2010 in the infobox. The page itself says the following:

 • This story refers to the events of when the Earth is transported to the Medusa Cascade that took place in May - June 2009, based on novel information, which would place it in 2010; however, controversy errupted with TV: The End of Time taking place on Christmas 2009, placing this story in Easter 2009, before the Medusa Cascade incident.

SmallerOnTheOutside 15:00, February 3, 2013 (UTC)

That isn't the only discussion concerning dating.

I didn't edit it in myself since I'd rather other people double-checked before adding. This may or may not occur in other episodes too, I'm not sure.
