The Isle of Hoy was one of the Orkney Islands.
The TARDIS landed on Hoy in 1956. When Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright stepped outside, the TARDIS disappeared. It had been dragged into the past and the First Doctor had to stay on the island until he caught up temporally with Ian and Barbara. (AUDIO: The Revenants)
