Professor Astrov was a scientist who worked for a Throxillian company. He was responsible for the programming of the artificial intelligences aboard the ROSM rescue ships. He was also the lead scientist behind the project to string a series of artificial suns in orbit over Cimmeria IV to facilitate its mining.
