Giant Leap Base was, according to Greta, the first Lunar colony. The First Doctor and Susan were being taken there after being discovered in a stasis field surrounding an Archaeon observatory elsewhere on the Moon. An attack from the Archaeons, however, killed the humans aboard the rover, preventing their arrival. (AUDIO: The Beginning)
