The advertising satellite was a robot satellite which teleported into random environments and convinced people to visit the Psychic Circus, as a means of advertisement.

It teleported into the Doctor's TARDIS and convinced the Seventh Doctor and Ace to visit the circus. The satellite left before they landed. (TV: The Greatest Show in the Galaxy)
