Lestat

Lestat was a vampire who played the violin. Armand Piper Destry portrayed Lestat in the Theatre des Vampires. (PROSE: Possum Kingdom)

Joanna Harris compared Slake to Lestat and told the Eighth Doctor that if Slake got into one of his "Lestat moods" he would go on all day. (PROSE: Vampire Science)

Lestat was a vampire in Anne Rice's novels and the main figure in Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. He also appeared in the movies Interview with the Vampire and Queen of the Damned. The vampire in the Doctor Who novels was a reference to Anne Rice's Lestat.
