Mary not Marie[[edit source]]

The ship's name was Mary Celeste not Marie Celeste, both in real life and in "The Chase". I'm moving the article to reflect this. -- solar penguin/(talk)/(contribs) 07:36, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

Hmmmm, problem is that it's spelled Marie Celeste in Timechase.

The bigger problem, though, is that in real life there has been a great deal of confusion over how to spell the name, larger because Arthur Conan Doyle spelled it Marie in the first fictional account of it, and many, many people have followed suit with that spelling (and with Conan Doyle's particulars). So it's really misleading for this article to speculate that, because a certain story spells it "Marie", it might be talking about a different ship. No, authorial intent is that any time you see "Marie Celeste" it means "Mary Celeste'.
