Ernie Wright was a London butcher.

While going home with Lil Nuttall in 1909, they were attacked by a Charrl that killed Lil. The Seventh Doctor was able to convince Constable Reggie Hawkins that Ernie was innocent of the murder. (PROSE: Birthright)

Behind the scenes[[edit] | [edit source]]

It is implied by the Doctor's comments that Ernie is the grandfather of either Barbara Wright or Polly Wright. In an interview with the author, he confirmed that Barbara was his granddaughter.[1]
