The cutting device was a large hand-held machine used by the Sea Devils.
It required two Sea Devils to carry the device, which appeared as a cylinder shaped machine with a sphere in the front which was capable of projecting a beam that was capable of cutting through obstacles such as doors. Elite Group One used a cutting device to cut through the blast doors of Sea Base 4 when they invaded the base. (TV: Warriors of the Deep)
