Stone Age

The Stone Age was the first period in the prehistory of humankind, preceding the Bronze and Iron Ages and characterised by the creation and use of primitive tools, some of which had a point, and others a sharp edge for cutting. It was also during that period that humankind discovered fire and how to control it. (PROSE: A History of Humankind)

During the Stone Age, some people inhabited Doggerland, a land bridge between the British Isles and continental Europe, before being forced to exodus on 7 September, 6200 BC. (PROSE: Time Traveller's Diary)

The First Doctor's first trip with Ian Chesterton and Barbara Wright was to Earth's Stone Age. According to the Doctor, even in the Stone Age there were politicians to deal with. (PROSE: Doctor Who and an Unearthly Child)

Upon entering Dr. Who's TARDIS and pressing a button, Monica, Buttons, and Cuthbert ended up in the Stone Age, where they found a Stone Age TV Studio, from which a caveman chased them. (COMIC: TV Terrors)

A plot by the Prometheans involved using the ancestral memory of the image of the Sun to revert the minds of those on Earth back to the Stone Age. The Eleventh Doctor was able to reverse this by sabotaging the chameleon circuit in his TARDIS, so that the Blue Box image would be implanted into the ancestral memory of Earth's history. (COMIC: Hunters of the Burning Stone)

According to the Silence, they had ruled the Earth since the Stone Age. (TV: Day of the Moon [+]Loading...["Day of the Moon (TV story)"])

The Toymaker claimed that the game of catch started in the Stone Age. He recalled that a Stone Age man picked up a rock and threw it at another man, who failed to catch it, the stone killing him. He quoted the man apparently said "oh, what fun!" upon finding himself victorious in the game. (TV: The Giggle [+]Loading...["The Giggle (TV story)"])
