Canada Memorial

The Canada Memorial was a feature in Green Park in London. Appropriately, it had a maple-leaf motif carved into its stone. Dave Young once read aloud its commemorative plaque to Anji Kapoor:

In two world wars, one million Canadians came to Britain and joined the fight for freedom. From danger shared our friendship prospered.

Impressed by his reading of the plaque, Anji kissed Dave, but they quickly left before their affection became, as Dave said, "[in]appropriate behaviour for a war memorial". (PROSE: Hope)
