As to whether or not they were human or simply humanoids, I honestly can't say. I personally believe that they were a form of humanity, driven to desperation to become predators of anything they could catch. Of course, they certainly didn't seem to consider themselves human, referring to the refugees as 'Humans' and themselves as 'Kind'.

The quote you reference from The Master is referring to the humans who reached 'Utopia' and altered themselves to become Toclafane. The Futurekind were left behind on Malcassairo, with little hope of survival. If starvation didn't wipe them out, the impending heat death of the planet would have.
Still, I consider them lucky compared to those who went to 'Utopia' and became Toclafane. Hopefully it ended quickly for them.

Human Cannibals[[edit source]]

From watching the episode Last of the Time Lords, there's a mistake in the history section, it's states that The Futurekind are just mutated Humans based on the Masters statement of 'Cannibalism' referring to the fact that it's implied the Futurekind eat flesh, this isn't true. The statement he made was 'all that Human invention, that sustained them over the aeons, it all turned inwards, they cannibalised themselves.' It's a misunderstanding of the term. It's talking about removing things that made you human and replacing it with that 'human technology. As far as I know, the Master wasn't responsible for the 'Toklafane', they did it to themselves. So stating that the Futurekind are a mutated form of Human is incorrect and should be removed.Lightningbarer 18:58, February 12, 2014 (UTC)
