The ''K9'' Series 1 DVDs (both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2) have "Character Profiles" as extras. (They're just about the only extras on the discs, in fact.) Are these profiles a valid source for article information? Our usual rule here has been that we include only ''narrative''-based information (though I'm not sure what the original rationale behind that was), but some of the articles on the ''K9'' characters have information from these "Character Profiles". For example, [[Drake (Liberation)#Early life]] is drawn completely from the "Character Profile" on Vol. 2 Disc 2.

The K9 Series 1 DVDs (both Vol. 1 and Vol. 2) have "Character Profiles" as extras. (They're just about the only extras on the discs, in fact.) Are these profiles a valid source for article information? Our usual rule here has been that we include only narrative-based information (though I'm not sure what the original rationale behind that was), but some of the articles on the K9 characters have information from these "Character Profiles". For example, Drake (Liberation)#Early life is drawn completely from the "Character Profile" on Vol. 2 Disc 2.

Should this material be removed, or retained with a citation to the Character Profile? If it's to be kept, do we need a new prefix for it, or some other way to refer to it? —Josiah Rowe talk to me 04:51, June 7, 2012 (UTC)

Nope, they're disallowed in the in-universe portion of articles. See Rule 1 at Tardis:Valid sources#Four little rules. They can certainly be in the behind-the-scenes section though. The closest applicable prefix is DOC, though if you wanted to create a more specific one, like K9CP, that'd be fine, too.

K9CP it is. I'll try to clean up those K9 character pages soon. —Josiah Rowe talk to me 20:29, June 9, 2012 (UTC)
