Synopsis[[edit] | [edit source]]

(This synopsis is taken from the 1986 VHS edition)

Ian Marter: actor, script-writer, novelist, entertainer. What has he done to find himself wandering the countryside around the mythical village of Tulloch? What is the unfathomable purpose behind his chancew meeting with Nicholas Briggs? Who or what is watching their every move?

Filmed entirely on location, this Myth Makers combines the dramatic settings of Terror of the Zygons with the thoughts and memories of Ian Marter.

Join us for a half hour of mystery and entertainment as we retrace Ian’s steps through the world of Doctor Who.

(This synopsis is taken from the 1994 VHS edition)

Tom Baker said to me one day, ‘You obviously write well, what about writing some of the Who novelisations?’"

The late Ian Marter is fondly remembered by Doctor Who fans as the charming, bumbling Harry Sullivan. The man behind the character was equally as likeable, but many more times sharp-witted.

As Nick Briggs and Ian Marter walk and talk their way through locations for Terror of the Zygons, you’ll learn of Ian’s life as a prolific actor and writer.

This is an extended version of the Myth Makers interview recorded in 1986, incorporating previously unseen footage and with a special introduction written and presented by Ian’s close friend Nicholas Courtney.
