Toluan salt-beetles were an insect species that Doctor Janet Rutherford experimented on at the United System Research Base.
Doctor Rutherford considered them to be the second most intelligent and adaptable species in the galaxy after humans.
The specimen consisted of a queen, consorts and soldier-drones. They were placed in an artificial hive-structure with egg-chambers. (COMIC: Whodunnit?)
