Prelude Warlock was, as the name suggested, a prelude to Warlock by Andrew Cartmel. It did not appear in the published novel.

The Doctor visits Pietia Marichev in Russia and receives a sample of a strange mushroom from Pietia's grandson Anatoly. He succeeds in convincing Pietia that he and his grandson must leave.
