History[[edit] | [edit source]]

Before humanity arrived, New Memphis was an uninhabited planetoid of little interest to anyone. Earth's government expressed interest in it because it was close to a major hyperspace nexus point. A refuelling station was established to assist the traffic crossing that point, coming from at least a hundred different star systems.

Over the course of a century, the refuelling station developed and was named the Elvis the King Spaceport. A permanent population arrived and the city-state of New Memphis was established next to the spaceport. The spaceport had ten terminals at full working capacity and two others shut down pending further notice. In 2479, work started on the thirteenth terminal. One of its funders, Derek Salter, was having financial problems and tried to delay production. Eventually, he hired a gangster, Uncle, to blow it up for the insurance.

In 2487, the "Invisible Assassin" was bought by Uncle to kill the Widow. The Judoon and the Tenth Doctor caught wind of this and investigated the planet. Working with Nikki Jupiter and a Judoon, Rok Ma, the Doctor tracked down the Invisible Assassin. However, it was soon stolen by the Widow's agents. Rok Ma went to warn her that it was, in fact, a virus. He was sent back with it and subsequently captured by Uncle, who believed it the Assassin a powerful weapon and took it. Rok Ma was strapped to one of the bombs at the terminal. Thanks to the Doctor and Nikki, the plot was uncovered and a number of Judoon were sent in to disarm the bombs. Rok Ma was subsequently freed.

Shortly after, both Uncle and the Widow were accidentally killed when Uncle was checking to see if the device was working. He released the virus and they died. Derek Salter was arrested for his part in the plot. Rok Ma decided to stay on New Memphis and help Nikki to establish a detective agency. (PROSE: Judgement of the Judoon)
