Commandant Gary Ritchie was part of the Space Security Service.
His wife and son were kidnapped by the Dark Peaks Lodge to make him help infiltrate Carrington Corporation. They were eventually rescued. He led his troops against the Wirrn, stopping their planned invasion of the solar system. (PROSE: Placebo Effect)
