Varl served as one of [[Stike|Group Marshal Stike]]'s aides in the [[Ninth Sontaran Battle Group]] and took part in the massacre of [[Space Station Camera]], ([[PROSE]]: {{cs|The Two Doctors (novelisation)}}) after which Stike sent him to [[Earth]] with [[Joinson Dastari]], [[Chessene o' the Franzine Grig]], [[Shockeye o' the Quawncing Grig]] and the captive [[Second Doctor]] to set up a [[homing beacon]] for his [[Sontaran scout ship]]. He also assisted in setting up a [[laboratory]] for the Doctor's [[symbiotic nuclei]] to be isolated.

Under the command of his superior, [[Stike]] he and a large group of Sontarans attacked [[Space Station Chimera]] and killed nearly all aboard. Only Varl and Stike went with their new ally [[Chessene of the Franzine Grig]] to [[Spain]]. There Varl and Stike waited while [[Dastari]] attempted to find a way for them to possess time travel. Chessene betrayed them and attacked them with [[Coronic acid]], they dissolved and Varl died. Stike survived, but his wounds were catastrophic, and he died in the explosion of his ship. Major Varl was a Sontaran officer of the Ninth Sontaran Battle Group.

Varl served as one of Group Marshal Stike's aides in the Ninth Sontaran Battle Group and took part in the massacre of Space Station Camera, (PROSE: The Two Doctors [+]Loading...["The Two Doctors (novelisation)"]) after which Stike sent him to Earth with Joinson Dastari, Chessene o' the Franzine Grig, Shockeye o' the Quawncing Grig and the captive Second Doctor to set up a homing beacon for his Sontaran scout ship. He also assisted in setting up a laboratory for the Doctor's symbiotic nuclei to be isolated.
