Hiram White was the name used by someone from Candram who spent decades on Earth. He became addicted to Holloway's pills. The Seventh Doctor and Ace met him and offered to take him home, but he wanted the Doctor to bring him more pills. The Doctor would only offer to take him home to the present time, so Hiram elected to stay on Earth. (PROSE: One Card for the Curious)
