John Robert Ashe was the leader of a human settlement on the planet Uxarieus in 2472. He was the father of Mary Ashe. He bore responsibility for choosing the location of the colony and therefore became unpopular amongst some colonists when the settlement appeared to be on the brink of failure.

Ultimately, it was the deliberate sacrifice of his own life which ensured the colony's survival. (TV: Colony in Space)
