The Gadot were a species native to the planet Erindra. They had complex mating rituals that were of interest to many species. They went extinct due to shyness at one point in history.

The Gadot were noted to be, "like a flightless bird" and "wonderful" by the Fourth Doctor. They had wings that glinted in the light and were able to reflect many colours. They were incredibly shy, to the point that they went extinct due to their shyness at the arrival of humans. They had complex mating rituals, that involved making loud calls while strutting around with its tail three feet high in the air.

The Gadot, due to their incredibly shy nature, went extinct when humans began to look for them, as they were too scared to mate.
At some point, the Fourth Doctor collected a Gadot using pheromones and brought it into his TARDIS, taking it to Erindra around ten years after the extinction of the Gadot. Marsh and the Doctor observed the Gadot and collected footage of it before the Doctor brought it back to its proper time. (AUDIO: Waiting for Gadot)
