We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Hi! Welcome to the wiki. I'm glad you want to make things better. So I'd like to explain why I undid your edits. We are one of the older wikis out there. So things have been reasonably well established even before I joined it. In other words, many things you see are not really random but rather a result of painstaking discussions and nailbiting compromises. Then again, there are many errors that need correcting. How to tell the difference? It's hard at first. I recommend observation, looking at pages similar to the one you'd like to edit. We at Tardis:Administrators are always happy to answer questions from new users. Seriously, it is much easier and more pleasant to explain rules than to clean up incorrect edits.

So back to the image of the Tenth Doctor. It might not come as a surprise that many people care about the infobox images on the Doctor pages. After all, you care, why not others, right? What happens quite often is that people propose images, then vote on them, then get an approval from an admin that the image satisfies all technical restrictions. And then the image is changed. Given how much care is put into the choice of these particular images (see the various archives at Talk:Tenth Doctor for multiple discussions of this), it is not advisable to just change it unilaterally. I believe the "embargo" period on the current image is over, so you might want to start a discussion and propose new images. If there is sufficient support from the community, things can happen. But it will not and should not happen quickly as this is one of the most visited pages and having it presentable on laptops, mobile platforms and via apps is important.

Having said that, I would ask you to familiarise yourself with our image policies before uploading new images. Help:Image cheat card might be a start. Tardis:Guide_to_images is more comprehensive. The problems with your images were:

1. no license, which is a serious problem;
2. portrait orientation of one of them, which may not have caused a deletion, but will definitely preclude it from being used in infoboxes as it usually isn't cropped well on mobile.
