Biography[[edit] | [edit source]]

This section's awfully stubby.

Garundel crash-landed in Denmark in the fifth century. After meeting Beowulf and Weohstan, he became the inspiration for the monster Grendel in the epic of Beowulf. This was also when he first encountered the Seventh Doctor. (AUDIO: Black and White [+]Loading...["Black and White (audio story)"]) They met again when the Doctor and his companions went to Garundel's auction to steal the Persuasion machine and the preserved body of its creator Kurt Schalk. He used the machine to persuade the Sontarans and the other races at the auction to give up the weapons and their money. Arrogant and money-driven to the point of lunacy, he cold-bloodedly murdered Ziv for what Elizabeth Klein described as "wounding [his] pride". He was tortured by Marshal Stenn and his hand removed to remove the lock on the Doctor's TARDIS. He was working with the Daleks, so that they could capture the real Schalk. (AUDIO: Starlight Robbery [+]Loading...["Starlight Robbery (audio story)"])

Garundel began running a con where he would crash into other ships and make the other party take the blame for the "accident". He crashed into Jenny's ship, and worked the con where he led his marks to a spaceport where his partner Vesh Taralesh would lie and say the "Patsy.. er Innocent Victim" had totalled their ship and charge exorbitant rates to fix Garundel's ship. Jenny was already on edge due to Garundel's patronising and sexist comments and quickly saw through the con. Garundel decided to kill her but after she escaped he ran her biodata and discovered she was a Time Lord. He then attempted to capture her alive with the intent to sell her to the highest bidder. (AUDIO: Stolen Goods [+]Loading...["Stolen Goods (audio story)"])

Personality[[edit] | [edit source]]

Garundel was a selfish person who easily broke his loyalties and alliances. He only kept people close while they were useful. One such acquaintance was with Vesh Taralesh, with whom he worked on a scam. This scam saw him using a scrambler to confuse the proximity detectors in spaceships entering a space lane. He would then fake a crash into said person and charge them for damages. Once Taralesh was murdered by the cyborg bounty hunter COLT-5000, his loyalties shifted to helping the COLT-5000 to locate Jenny in return for his life and a small reward. (AUDIO: Stolen Goods [+]Loading...["Stolen Goods (audio story)"]) He turned on Dorium Maldovar just as easily. (AUDIO: Genesis of the Humans [+]Loading...["Genesis of the Humans (audio story)"])

Garundel was also someone who belittled and viewed others as beneath him, finding easy to refer to others with hurtful terms. He called Jenny "blondie" and was racist towards Lukaku, referring regularly to their purple skin, and also regularly abusing his position of power and Lukaku's people's willingness to serve others should the be a debt to be paid[statement unclear]. However, when Jenny was quick to use force to counteract his sexist remarks, Garundel feigned weakness in an attempt to seem helpless. (AUDIO: Stolen Goods [+]Loading...["Stolen Goods (audio story)"])
