Digby Arwell was the brother of Reg Arwell. (PROSE: "Holiday Plans") He was brother-in-law to Madge Arwell and and the uncle of their children, Cyril and Lily Arwell. He was much wealthier than the Arwells and possessed a large country estate in Dorset. By 1941, however, Digby had vacated the house to live, according to Lily, "in a home in Battersea".
