In the comic book Time Surgeon, chrono-shields were wrist-worn devices used by the Time Surgeon and Nurse Kara. As demonstrated in the instalment Day of the Deathroids, the Time Surgeon and Kara used the chrono-shields to deflect the plasma-blasts of the Deathroids back in time.
