The doctor says that she spent three weeks as a Hologram once. Is this a reference, or new information? TimeoinSay G'DayView my work 02:59, October 15, 2018 (UTC)

There's nothing about this mentioned on the Hologram page, so it's probably new information. Gallifrey102 04:32, October 15, 2018 (UTC)
The "References" section has for a long time been a section for mentioning new names, terms, beings and objects found throughout each individual episode. Otherwise it would have an identical function to the "Continuity" section, which would make one of them redundant. --DCLM 22:23, October 15, 2018 (UTC)
Sorry, I should have clarified more clearly. Apologies. I meant is it referencing something in the past (Which as you have pointed out, is continuity). I was wondering because the show likes to do callbacks to previous information (either tv, audio, or novels). I guess now its just a matter of whether or not it was a truthful statement, or the Doctor being the Doctor, and saying something not necessarily completely honest. The description by Danniesen is not entirely correct. In short and simplified form, references are for persons/objects while continuity is for events. I defer you to an extended explanation provided by another admin, Shambala108 at User_talk:Q01n#References and continuity. Amorkuz 06:56, October 17, 2018 (UTC)
To put it to the matter at hand, it is information about the Doctor's past (much like the Timeless Child), but it isn't a continuity point as it is a new piece of information not encountered in any shape before. --DCLM 09:24, October 17, 2018 (UTC)
However, it is quite possible that this will be expanded on later on in another story and will become a continuity point. Amorkuz 09:31, October 17, 2018 (UTC)
And at that point it will be a different matter as it won't be a new information. --DCLM 09:34, October 17, 2018 (UTC)
Just to be clear, I completely agree with you that, unless there is a story none of us is aware of (sadly, one cannot fully rely on the Hologram page containing complete information from all the stories), at the moment it is not a continuity point. It is absolutely a reference to "Hologram". I was just trying to prevent this case from being overgeneralised. Amorkuz 09:38, October 17, 2018 (UTC)

Time and Date?[[edit source]]

Is this episode still in 2018, just on another planet? Or did the machine the Doctor built send them to the time the TARDIS had gone to. Why would the TARDIS even travel to another time? Can she do that on her own? NightmareGuardian19
