Charlie was a bartender at the Last Chance Saloon in Tombstone, Arizona. When he met Steven Taylor and Dodo Chaplet in October 1881, he offered them jobs as a singer and piano player respectively.

He informed the Clantons that the First Doctor was not Doc Holliday and that Holliday had shot and killed Seth Harper.

When Johnny Ringo entered the saloon, Charlie gave him a message from the Clantons. Ringo left the bar counter and began to walk up the steps to the rooms. Ringo stopped, turned around and fatally shot Charlie. (TV: The Gunfighters)

Charlie kept a picture of Lily Langtry under the bar at the Last Chance Saloon. (PROSE: The Gunfighters)
