In 2526, Khan was a member of an expedition exploring a recently discovered cavern rich in fossils somewhere on Earth. Khan was killed along with six others by the Neomorph Cybermen's androids due to their close proximity to the Cyber-bomb's hatch. Khan's coat and a small pick hammer that belonged to Khan were found by Kyle just after she and Lieutenant Scott discovered the Fifth Doctor and his companions.
